Bridal Shower!

Some of the ladies in my church held a Bridal Shower for me on Monday. I got a lot of good things plus many gift cards so I can buy what I need.  Here are a few photos.

Yes, it is countdown time. 16 days before I get married.I still have quite a lot to do but it's getting done. My fiance John comes to town in 6 days so much of what I need to do has to be done before he gets here.

Today's Positives:
1. I was given a nice bridal shower this week.
2. John arrives in 6 days.
3. John and I will get married in 16 days.
WooHoo!

I am getting MARRIED!

April 27th John Brokopp started calling me from Pennsylvania. John had worked in Gabon from 1972-1992. We met there in 1977. On August 4th I drove into Minneapolis and picked up John at the airport. Within the first hour we were ENGAGED to be MARRIED!!

We were headed to my family reunion where my four brothers would be. The plan was for John to ask my four brothers for my hand in marriage but HE COULD NOT WAIT!!! He gave me the ring before he met my brothers. They did not say no though.

Immanuel Hospital Nursing Class of 1970 Reunion!

 I attended Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing from 1967-1970. Above is my class during our February 9, 1968 "Capping Ceremony".

July 23rd was the 46th reunion of the Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1970. It was GREAT! So much fun seeing others. I had not been to a reunion since my 21st reunion many years ago. There were 18 of us who attended the reunion, plus a number of husbands. We had so much fun. We laughed and laughed as we shared memories of our time in school

Update! I'm back blogging!

Last night my nephew Joel and his family were passing through town on their way to CO. We had dinner together and I had so much fun seeing them.

Last week I spoke about Africa five days at a Vacation Bible School in Iowa. I spoke each evening to five different age groups. I'm back in Omaha and kind of glad that all my speaking is now over. I have no more planned and that is ok because I am busy otherwise.

My next few weeks will involve getting ready for two reunions. My 46th class reunion for my Nursing Class will be July 23 and I am on the committee of three to plan it. My family reunion will be the first weekend of August and I am on a committee of two to plan that.


I have not been blogging recently but I want to get back into it. This is a start!
